How to set a Google Ads budget

The right Google Ads budget is calculated not by guessing what competitors spend, but from the reachable search volume, expected click costs and the value the business assigns to a conversion.

01

Define the goal and the conversion value

A phone call, a quote form, a WhatsApp conversation and a direct sale all have different values. Before the campaign starts, decide which event counts as success and what an average customer win contributes to the business.

Without knowing profit margins and close rates, the question “how much should we spend per month?” cannot be answered healthily. The ad budget must be connected to business economics.

02

Examine search volume and click costs

Estimates in the keyword planner provide a starting range; they are not exact results. Region, device, hour and match type change the real cost. A narrow service area in Antalya does not require the same budget as nationwide targeting.

Estimated monthly clicks show how much of the day your budget can keep the campaign visible. A very low budget can slow down data collection and optimization. High-quality-score ads can get more clicks with the same budget; see our quality score guide.

03

Build a conversion scenario

For example, if five qualified enquiries are expected from a hundred clicks, an initial test budget can be calculated with the estimated click cost. If the real conversion rate is unknown, prepare three scenarios: optimistic, normal and cautious.

Media budget and campaign setup/management fees should be evaluated as separate items — that separation provides transparency.

  • Expected monthly clicks
  • Estimated conversion rate
  • Value of a qualified enquiry
  • Data period needed for testing
04

Grow the budget based on data

The first period is a learning and validation process. Search terms, conversion quality and cost are reviewed regularly; inefficient areas are closed and budget is shifted to well-performing campaigns.

Changing the budget every day makes it harder for the algorithm to learn and for you to compare. In our Google Ads service we make increase decisions based on sufficient data and business outcomes.

Conclusion

The bottom line

The right Google Ads budget is not the highest amount you can spend; it is the amount that produces meaningful data and stays sustainable at your target cost per customer.
